The First English Drama and Music Festival of The High School Affiliated to Minzu University of China Chaoyang Campus Comes to a Successful Conclusion

2024 年 5 月 30日下午，中央民族大学附属中学朝阳校区大礼堂内喜气洋洋，首届英语话剧音乐节在这里盛大开幕。本次活动以“国际视野·人文素养”为主题，旨在通过英语话剧、音乐、舞蹈、配音等多元的艺术形式，激发学生学习英语的兴趣，提高学生的英语综合能力，同时促进学生对中西方优秀文化的深刻理解。

On May 30th, 2024, the auditorium of The High School Affiliated to Minzu University of China Chaoyang Campus was filled with joy, marking the grand opening of the first English Drama and Music Festival. The theme of this event was "International Perspective and Humanistic Quality" with the aim of stimulating students' interest in learning English, improving their English comprehensive abilities, and promoting the deep understanding of Chinese and Western splendid cultures through diverse art forms such as English drama, music, dance, and dubbing.

在全球化的时代环境中，按照教育部 2020 年《关于加快和扩大新时代教育对外开放的意见》中有关指示，帮助学生树立人类命运共同体意识，培养德智体美劳全面发展且具有国际视野的新时代青少年成为了基础教育的重要任务。

本次英语话剧音乐节的举办，正是学校对这一精神的具体落实。通过参与活动，学生们不仅能够提高自己的英语水平，还能够拓宽自己的国际视野，了解不同国家和文化的差异，增强跨文化交流的能力。

In the era of globalization, according to the relevant instructions in the Ministry of Education's 2020 Opinion on Accelerating and Expanding New-era Educational Opening-up, helping students develop a sense of a community with a shared future for humanity and cultivating young people with comprehensive development of morality, intelligence, physique, aesthetics, and labor skills and international vision has become an important task for basic education.

The holding of the English Drama and Music Festival is a specific measure taken by the school to actively respond to this goal. Through participating in the event, students not only improve their English level but also broaden their international perspective, understand the differences between different countries and cultures, and enhance their cross-cultural communication skills.

同时，本次活动也注重培养学生的人文素养。话剧作为一种艺术形式，能够深刻地反映社会现实和人类的情感世界。通过演绎经典的英语话剧作品，学生们能够深入理解作品所蕴含的人文精神，培养自己的审美情趣和文化修养。此外，活动还设置了英语歌曲演唱、英语影视配音，英文歌曲伴舞等环节，让学生们在欣赏和表演的过程中，感受英语语言的魅力，提高自己的语言表达能力。我校曾有英语戏剧节的尝试，此次英语话剧音乐节活动，我们依据学生的基础和兴趣，丰富了活动形式，让更多的同学参与进来。

At the same time, this event also pays attention to cultivating students' humanistic quality. Drama, as an art form, can reflect the social reality and human emotional world in a profound way. By performing classic English drama works, students can deeply understand the humanistic spirit contained in the works and cultivate their aesthetic interests and cultural quality. In addition, the event featured English song performances, English film dubbing, and English song dances, allowing students to appreciate and perform while experiencing the charm of the English language and improving their language expression skills. Our school has tried English drama festivals in the past, and this English drama and music festival is a more diverse event based on students' abilities and interests, allowing more students to participate.

在活动中，所有参赛的同学在老师的指导下，在为期一个月的准备中，充分发挥自己的想象力和创造力，在力所能及的英语范围内，最大程度地表现了自己对英语的所见、所想、所思、所学。

During the event, all participating students, under the guidance of their teachers, fully utilized their imagination and creativity in a one-month preparation phase, expressing themselves within their abilities in English on what they had seen, thought, felt, and learned about English.

他们用流利的英语、精湛的演技和丰富的表现力，将一个个经典的英语话剧片段演绎得淋漓尽致。在1班表演的《The sound of music》中，同学们用优美的歌声和动人的表演，展现了对音乐的热爱和对生活的向往；在12班演绎的《Little red riding hood》中，同学们用诙谐幽默的语言和夸张的动作，演绎了一个充满童趣的故事；在5班带来的话剧《Teahouse》中，同学们用细腻的情感和深刻的思考，展现了中国社会的变迁和人性的复杂。而10班展示的《Mulan》则通过精彩的剧情和出色的表演，诠释了中国传统文化中的勇敢、坚韧和忠诚。最后是由9班带来的《Barbie》，公主学院的故事充满梦幻色彩，演员们用精彩的表演和华丽的服装，为观众呈现了一个充满魔法和奇迹的世界。

They delivered fluent English, skilled acting, and rich expressiveness, bringing classic English drama scenes to life in a vivid and engaging way. In "The Sound of Music," students showcased their love for music and aspirations for life through beautiful singing and touching performances. In "Little Red Riding Hood," students used witty language and exaggerated actions to tell a charming story. In "Teahouse," students used delicate emotions and profound reflection to depict the changes in Chinese society and the complexity of human nature. And "Mulan" conveyed the courage, perseverance, and loyalty of traditional Chinese culture through a captivating plot and outstanding performances. The "Barbie" brought by Class 9 that tells the story of the Princess Academy is full of dreamy colors. The actors used wonderful performances and gorgeous costumes to present the audience with a world full of magic and miracles.

此外，本次音乐节中的音乐类节目也备受瞩目。8班表演的《Monsters》则以其激情四溢的节奏和富有感染力的演唱，展现了同学们的青春活力；6班与8班共同出演的舞蹈《Better Things》同样给观众们留下了深刻的印象。同学们用充满活力的舞蹈动作和热情洋溢的表演，展现了对未来的美好憧憬。这些音乐类节目不仅为此次活动增添了更多的色彩和魅力，也让同学们在欣赏表演的同时，感受到了音乐的力量和文化的内涵。

Moreover, the musical performances at this year's music festival were also highly anticipated. For example, "Monsters" showcased the youthful energy of classmates with its passionate rhythm and infectious singing; the dance performance "Better Things" also left a deep impression on the audience. Students used vibrant dance moves and enthusiastic performances to express their optimistic outlook on the future. These music programs not only added more color and charm to the event, but also allowed students to appreciate the power of music and the cultural connotations while enjoying the performances.

校领导、年级组和全体英语老师作为评委，从主题、语言表达、创新和舞台效果四个方面对节目进行了评价。他们认为，本次英语话剧音乐节的节目质量高，学生们的表现出色，充分展示了学校英语教学的成果和学生们的综合素质。同时，评委们也对学生们提出了一些中肯的建议和殷切的期望，希望他们在今后的学习和生活中，继续努力，不断提高自己的英语水平和综合素质。

The school leaders, grade groups, and all English teachers served as judges, evaluating the programs from four aspects: theme, language expression, innovation, and stage effects. They believed that the quality of the programs at the English Drama Music Festival was high, and the students' performances were outstanding, fully showcasing the achievements of the school's English teaching and the students' comprehensive qualities. At the same time, the judges also offered some pertinent suggestions and sincere expectations to the students, hoping that they would continue to work hard and constantly improve their English level and comprehensive qualities.

本次英语话剧音乐节的成功举办，不仅为学生们提供了一个展示自己才华和风采的平台，也为学校的英语教学改革和素质教育提供了有益的经验和借鉴。相信在学校领导的关心和支持下，在全体师生的共同努力下，朝阳校区的英语教学水平一定会取得更加优异的成绩，以多元化的学科活动培养出更多具有国际视野和人文素养的优秀人才。

The successful holding of this English drama music festival not only provided students with a platform to showcase their talents and charm, but also provided useful experience and reference for the reform of English teaching and quality education in the school.
